The Hireup team is focused on delivering a quality experience for our users, at the heart of which is our Service team. Comprising our Community Support, Trust and Safety and Incident Response teams, the Service team is responsible for the wellbeing and satisfaction of our users. As frontline staff, our Service team listens with intent and responds with integrity in its efforts to ensure our users feel heard, supported and satisfied.

about the role

The Behaviour Support Advisor is responsible for ensuring the clients with complex behaviour support needs are supported safely and in a way that works for each individual. The advisor works closely with the behaviour support team, reviewing processes and improving service offerings for clients.

The Behaviour Support Advisor is creative in designing solutions with the community. Responsible for highlighting training and development of the Behaviour Support team and Hireup support workers, the advisor works closely with the Behaviour Support Team Lead and the Service Development Lead.

Working closely with the Head of Complex Support and the Complex Support Operations Lead, apply your industry and professional experience to innovatively co-design and support the teams in the implementation of strategic initiatives.

Priorities – the work

  • Ensure industry excellence, aligning with the NDIS Practice Standards
  • Build relationships with and liaise with external stakeholders such as other service providers, allied health professionals and the NDIA Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Work cross-functionally to influence from design stage to implementation within the Behaviour Support Team
  • Assist the team in achieving key business metrics
  • Think and problem solve creatively to ensure co-designed initiatives are implemented in a community focused and scalable manner
  • Responsible for behaviour support related training and development of the behaviour support team and Hireup support workers, the advisor works closely with the Behaviour Support Team Lead
  • Work closely with Product, Data, Service and Marketing in all cross-functional initiatives
  • Highlight training opportunities to the Service Development Lead regarding capability requirements and development wants/needs of behaviour support team members
  • Ensure all required and relevant policies are reviewed and updated annually
  • Commitment to ensuring initiatives, policy and support on reducing restrictive practices
  • Facilitating monthly restrictive practice authorisation panels
  • Ensuring compliance with NDIS reporting requirements for both unauthorised and authorised restrictive practice
