About Us

Tjiwarl (Aboriginal Corporation) was established to hold on trust the native title rights and interests of the Tjiwarl native title holders. The corporation is responsible for delivering core governance and operational activities, fulfils obligations under land use agreements, implements programs for the betterment of Tjiwarl native title holders, protects and preserves land and heritage for the Tjiwarl community.  

The Role

The primary objectives of this position are to:

  • Support the CEO and Tjiwarl business units in identifying and applying for grants and tenders as per Tjiwarl’s Strategic plan.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders as required to draft, write and develop applications for grants and tenders and follow through the application process until completion.
  • Facilitate and coordinate completion of all reporting requirements for grants compliance and required from the CEO 

The Duties:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposal narratives that highlight the organisation's capabilities, experience, and unique value proposition.
  • Operating as the central point of contact for Client’s proposal/tender requests.
  • Analysis of the proposal/tender/grant requirements against the Client’s core business and capabilities to ensure compliance and responsiveness to buyer’s issues and needs.
  • Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify funding/grant and tender opportunities applicable to heritage, commercial growth, business development and other areas as outlined in the strategic plan and liaise with the CEO and respective teams. 
  • Write and develop submissions, grant applications, tenders and presentations for a variety of stakeholders to support successful applications.
  • Draft and develop the marketing and communications strategy surrounding application activities.
  • Undertake research and conduct analysis to gather information and data to provide insights, opportunities and recommendations that align with TJIWARL’s objectives and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation on the delivery and coordination of applications for engagement with proponents.
  • Work within and comply with all TJIWARL policies, procedures, and established guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with all colleagues, teams, and stakeholders throughout the course of work.
  • Coordinating the management and monitoring on upcoming funding opportunities as well as submission status.
  • Maintaining compliance records with tender, funding and grant customers.
  • Maintaining the tender submission register including tracking success rates and submission losses.
  • Complete grants status reports requested from the CEO and/or Board.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Over two years working on tenders, grants and proposal submissions.
  • Relevant qualifications with a solid academic track record.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and also contribute to a team environment.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Confidence in dealing with people and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Experience working with the resource sector and Not for Profits.
  • Ability to use initiative and communicate effectively with Aboriginal people or people from culturally diverse backgrounds as well as colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a busy context with a range of competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal organisations and people.
  • Technology skills –e.g. excel, word, phone systems, MS Teams
  • Experience in the not for profit/non-government sector.

Licenses & Accreditations 

  • Cleared National Police Check 
  • Drivers’ License (C Class)

Salary & Benefits

Immediate start available. 

A competitive salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience. The role is based in Kewdale, with occasional overnight travel to the northern Goldfields.
