About the Clinical Administration Officer role

The primary purpose of the Clinical Administration Officer role is to be the first point of contact with patients, their families, consumers, and external stakeholders and plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of administrative and billing processes.

The Clinical Administration Officer role has two key areas of work:

1. Patient Liaison:

  • Utilise well-developed interpersonal and telephone communication skills to confidentially manage incoming calls, information, responses, and follow-ups for individuals using clinic services.
  • Approach clients with a calm and compassionate manner.
  • Manage sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.

2. Clinical Administration:

  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks that support the organisation including but not limited to: records management, information management and booking systems
  • Develop and edit documents and forms in line with the style guide.
  • Demonstrate knowledge or training in medical terminology and advanced proficiency in MS Office Professional programs.
  • Identify information gaps in patient record and pass on to clinical staff, ensuring patient records are accurately maintained and updated, with accurate attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with medical software programs and electronic medical records (eMR) systems with understanding of billing and claims processes, including Medicare, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Private Health Funds procedures

Permanent, full time roles are available. Part time and casual roles may be considered.
