The Development & Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking applicants for the position of Associate to provide fundraising and outreach support as well as administrative assistance.
The Associate will be part of the Australia Development and Outreach team which serves as an important base for HRW’s development, fundraising, and outreach activities in the region. This is part-time position at 19 hours per week, with an anticipated start in January 2024. This role requires availability to work occasional nights and weekend events, and potential travel.
The position will ideally be based in the Sydney office, though candidates based remotely in Melbourne are also encouraged to apply. The Associate will report to the two Associate Directors in the Development and Outreach Department, based in Melbourne and Sydney.
The successful candidate may have the option to work remotely, but will be expected to work from the office about 1-2 days a week if based in Sydney. We aim to be as flexible and supportive as possible in both the recruitment for and onboarding of this position.
Education: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, international relations, social sciences, or an equivalent combination of work experience and qualifications (e.g. project management certification) is required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required.
Other: Applicants for this position must possess valid Australian work authorisation.
