PCYC is the leading WA youth organisation. We work with the WA Police Force, Community and Government Agencies to ensure that young people across WA reach their potential. This all happens from our 16 centres located from Albany in the South, to Kununurra in the North-West.
About the Role:
The Youth Engagement Officer will be supporting the delivery of our safeSPACE program. safeSPACE is PCYCs early intervention program, aimed at supporting frontline policing priorities and preventing young people from becoming involved in the youth justice system and improving outcomes for those who do.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Youth Services Team with the service delivery of the youth program, including planning, delivery, and monitoring the programs and activities.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for young people in the community

About you:
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, including their families
- Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander young people and have a good understanding of the issues facing First Nations People.
- Passionate about re-engaging young people through building positive professional relationships and utilising a strength based, person-centered, trauma-aware, solutions focussed approach.
- Possess or willing to obtain a valid National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
