About the role:

The HSU is excited to add an enthusiastic Member Services Intake Officer to our growing Industrial team. This position is full-time permanent based in our Sydney CBD Head Office.

This is an entry level position within the Member Services Division of the HSU. It is an exciting opportunity for you to gain experience and insight into industrial relations and the Union movement. The primary function of this role is to triage members calls to the HSU to determine the urgency of the issue and to refer the inquiry to the appropriate HSU Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Take calls or emails from members to respond to their needs and concerns. Listen to members’ requests and transfer member’s enquiry to the appropriate officer
  • Advises members regarding the Union’s benefits, policies, and procedures. Must be aware of all of the organisation’s services and processes to provide accurate information
  • Refers non-industrial legal matters and workers compensation disputed claims to Lawyers
  • Collects and maintains data relating to the operations of the division as required

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to requests and inquiries
  • Strong interpersonal skills for both internal and external communications and relationships
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Demonstrated ability to use a PC and related commercial software packages
  • Conflict and problem-solving skills

  • Sydney CBD Head Office

Remuneration:

  • $70,941 + 11.5% (12% for females) Employee Superannuation Contributions
