The HSU is currently hiring to fill a full time vacancy in the Ambulance Division.

The Ambulance Division is a busy, high energy division that believes that power is best exercised through the collective action of members.

This role suits an organiser who shares our passion that members, and their delegates, should be empowered to make democratic decisions that relate to their workplace, industry, and community.

Job Description

• Recruit workers to the HSU;
• Build activism amongst union members and mentoring members into leadership
  positions;
• Visit Ambulance stations and Emergency Departments across Sydney, NSW.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• The position requires someone with excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and negotiations skills and who has the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment;
• Excellent organising skills and ideas;
• Drivers licence;
• Demonstrated success at growing union membership and leadership;
• Ability to strategise and find solutions to challenges;
• Passion for the union movement;
• A willingness to ‘pound the pavement’ to make contact with as many members and potential members as possible. This includes site visits in non-standard hours.

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of contemporary industrial issues within the Ambulance sector.

Salary

• Salary will be offered based on skills and experience as per the HSU Employee Agreement.
