About Hudson Institute

Hudson Institute of Medical Research is a leading Australian medical research institute recognised internationally for discovery science and translational research into four key areas: reproductive health and pregnancy, infant and child health, inflammation and cancer. By keeping the bigger picture in mind we improve the health of our society through innovative preventative approaches, treatments and devices for patients.

More than 470 scientists and students work in our world-class laboratories at the Monash Precinct with our partners Monash Health and Monash University. Our integrated research teams include clinicians and nurses who both inform research programs based on patient need and advance these discoveries back to the clinic.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to further develop and manage operations within the Cell Therapies Platform, which is hosted by the Monash Health Translation Precinct. The incumbent will also manage and promote the MHTP Cell Therapies Platform in its aims to facilitate research and clinical translation of cell therapies through the provision of GMP accredited facilities. The position will report to the MHTP Platforms Strategic Operations Manager and the Cell Therapies Scientific Director and will be fully integrated into the MHTP Technology Platform Network and the MHTP led Victorian Consortium for Cell-based Therapies (VCCT).

The Cell Therapies Platform Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Platform.

The role will include:

  • Operational management of Biological Isolator Facilities and associated Cell Therapy Platform capabilities
  • Formal commissioning (i.e. Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification and Performance Qualification) of Cell Therapy Platform Equipment
  • Coordination and oversight of equipment and facility maintenance activities – e.g. scheduling of preventative maintenance, validation of equipment and processes, review of contractors, housekeeping
  • Development and implementation of GMP training, competency assessments and support for MHTP and VCCT personnel, external clients and contractors wishing to use the facilities

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview.

Hudson Institute is committed to empowering our people and harnessing their diversity to build an inclusive and equitable work environment. We encourage people of all abilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders, diverse cultures and backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ identifies, and all age groups to apply.
