This full-time, ongoing position offers a competitive salary range of $72,294 up to $80,033 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation.

Are you passionate about human rights and making a real difference? The Policy Division of the Australian Human Rights Commission is looking for a dedicated Executive Assistant to support our Human Rights Commissioner and the dynamic Human Rights and Scrutiny Team. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in promoting awareness and advocacy for human rights across Australia!

About Us

The Policy Division collaborates closely with our President and seven statutory Commissioners, focusing on areas like race, age, disability discrimination, and social justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our mission includes engaging with the community, educating about human rights, and fostering partnerships with government, industry, and civil society organisations.

What You’ll Do

As the Executive Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, providing comprehensive support to ensure our initiatives run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executive Assistance: Manage the Commissioner’s diary, organise travel, and oversee office management, including database and record management.
  • Communication & Correspondence: Update our Commission webpages, coordinate communications, and draft responses on behalf of the Commissioner.
  • Finance & Administration Support: Assist with budget management, process paperwork, and support the team in maintaining office supplies and accounts.
  • Project & Event Management: Coordinate logistics for major meetings and internal events while providing research support for priority projects as needed.

Who You Are

We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual with:

  • Strong administrative skills and a knack for technology.
  • The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in research or project support is a plus!
