ABOUT THE role

We are looking to recruit members to our Board who share our values.

The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction and governance of Hunter Circles and ensuring the organisation is meeting its legal, financial and ethical obligations.

Board members are also responsible for championing the work of Hunter Circles. This means Board members actively take or create opportunities to discuss the work of Hunter Circles and rally support for the organisation.

Board meetings are held monthly and can range from 1-2 hours. There may be additional meetings called if the need arises. Board members are provided with an agenda and agenda materials before meetings. Meetings are held in person and via videoconferencing.

The Board also communicates via email outside of meetings.

Selection criteria

• Passionate about human rights, inclusion and social justice
• Committed to upholding the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
• Able to commit to attending Board meetings as required

To complement the existing skills of the Hunter Circles Board, we are seeking candidates with appropriate experience in the following areas:

• Organisational Development
• Legal
• Finance and Audit

Knowledge and values from lived experience of disability will be highly regarded.
