ABOUT THE ROLE

This full-time hybrid opportunity is based in our office in Surry Hills and comes with a competitive remuneration package.

As the Head of Finance, you will provide financial management and oversight of the organisation. You will also be willing and able to roll your sleeves up and get involved in the detail, as required. As part of the Executive Management team you will collaborate with your colleagues and the Board on strategic planning, ensuring the long term success of the business.

As a leader at ICLA, you will lead with courage, consistency and empathy; communicate to create clarity; and role model ICLA’s values, purpose and mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all financial processes, ensuring ICLA meets internal and external requirements within agreed timeframes, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Developing and monitoring financial systems, ensuring effectiveness, accuracy and consistency of financial processes, controls, data and reports, incl. board reporting
  • Advising the CEO, Finance, Risk & Audit Committee and executive managers and ensuring best practise in financial matters
  • Ensuring relevant policies are up to date, communicated and implemented effectively 
  • Ensuring efficient and effective use of financial resources and the adequacy of systems
  • Overseeing ICLA’s risk management, ensuring audit requirements are met, financial/operational challenges are identified and mitigation strategies are in place
  • Managing the development, regular review and reporting on budgets and projections, including identifying financial opportunities and the adequacy of funding
  • Monitoring and reporting on expenditure, ensuring alignment with delegations and budgets, including preparing acquittals for government grants
  • Overseeing cash flow including payments, transfers, bank accounts and payroll 
  • Managing annual review and currency of insurances
  • Acting as the Company Secretary
  • Other relevant duties as required by the CEO and Board of Directors

ABOUT YOU

Essential Criteria

  1. CA/CPA qualified, or equivalent
  2. Experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance or in a similar role
  3. Strong influencer with proven experience empowering others to achieve their own and the company goals
  4. Proven excellent communicator and change champion who thrives in a diverse environment
  5. Hands-on experience with cash flow management, budgeting and risk management
  6. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
  7. Demonstrated strategic thinker, results and solution-oriented decision maker, driven by data and analytics
  8. Demonstrated high level of discretion and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a not-for-profit organisation  
  • Experience working with MYOB 
  • Experience with NDIS and/or Aged Care
  • Property management and/or development experience
  • IT and Systems management experience
