The opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager/ Project Director to lead the merger. As the Project Director, you will oversee the seamless integration of Access Health and Community with Inspiro, driving the project from initial planning through transition and post-merger integration. In this role, you will champion the merger, ensuring robust project management, stakeholder engagement, and change management practices towards a timely, successful integration.

This position is critical for ensuring a people and community-centred approach to the merger, while optimising our operations, and managing risks. You will report directly to the CEO of AccessHC, the employing agency, whilst also collaborating closely with the CEO of Inspiro, with flexibility to work across both AccessHC and Inspiro sites essential.

Ideal candidates will possess proven expertise and success in leading complex projects within the healthcare sector, strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of change management and risk mitigation strategies. This role is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the successful merger of two significant healthcare organisations.

What you will be doing

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Champion the merger across our organisations, communicating the vision and promoting and celebrating milestones when they are reached
  • Lead the development and implementation of the merger project plan, including managing the dedicated merger team and coordinating support from both organisations
  • Establish effective project governance structures to oversee the merger
  • Lead the design and implementation of engagement strategies for external stakeholders including clients, community, partners and funders
  • Lead the development and implementation of change management, communications, engagement and development activities that support effective change
  • Monitor and report on progress against the project plan, including timely escalation of issues, risks, opportunities and benefits to the Steering Committee

What you will bring

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, communications or management; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a complex, regulated operating environment (preferably health or social services)
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects, involving significant project, change and transformation management, minimising risks and disruption
  • Outstanding leadership qualities with proven success in stakeholder management and the ability to navigate complex environments

Desirable:

  • Experience of leading/supporting a merger within the for-purpose sector
  • Qualifications in project management or change management

Attributes:

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with a track-record of building and influencing a values-driven culture
  • Expertise in applying best-practice project management and change management frameworks to deliver complex projects
  • Exceptional communication, influence and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to take systems thinking approach
  • Experience in delivering continuous improvement and efficiency in processes and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and collaboratively in a complex internal and external stakeholder environment
  • Contemporary familiarity with Government and for-purpose sector
  • Technically astute, with experience in the application and promotion of MS Office365 tools.
  • Knowledge of platforms and systems used in the health sector is desirable but not essential
