Independent Living Assessment (iLA) is for-purpose organisation with a focus on empowering people living within the Australian community, to increase their knowledge and take steps towards maintaining their independence at home and in their community. Operating across the broader community sector, iLA currently delivers Regional Assessment Service and a range of digital-first initiatives including LiveUp, KeepAble Sector Support & Development, and AT Chat navigation and peer mentoring programs.

THE PROJECT

LiveUp is an innovative, digital-first (but not digital only) healthy ageing guide, run by iLA and funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care to provide older Australians with information, resources and advice on health and wellbeing, assistive technology and community connections.

THE ROLE

Using a range of community development methodology, this role will seek to establish partnerships with identified grass-root community organisations and together pilot different approaches to engaging with Live Up’s primary and secondary audiences. The overall aim being to raise awareness of LiveUp, promote healthy ageing, and increase the uptake of the LiveUp offerings by the target audience and embedding LiveUp into the communities eco system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using community development methodology such as asset-based community development (ABCD) to identify opportunities to collaborate with grass-root organisations
  • Identify priority communities such as rural and collectively overcome barriers that may impact on LiveUp being embedded into the community
  • Develop project plans for collaboration pilots
  • After evaluating collaborative projects identify success factors that would lead to sustainability and scalability of the projects.
  • Represent LiveUp and iLA at expos and other forums.

THE CANDIDATE

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Passion and interest in delivering health initiatives to older Australians
  • Community related qualifications such as community development, social work, health promotion or similar
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities for collaboration and influencing their decision-making.
  • Community Development Skills
  • Project Planning and Implementation Skills
  • Sound ICT skills including Microsoft office suite and experience using databases/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

Importantly, you must have the ability to be self-motivated, accountable and be willing to travel when required.
