The Royal Flying Doctor Service - South Eastern Section provides lifesaving aeromedical and primary healthcare services to rural, regional, and remote communities.

Impact you will have in this role

The Acquisition Lead will support on the expansion and diversification of donor acquisition strategies, overseeing two Acquisition Coordinators and reporting to the Acquisition Manager.

This position will focus on increasing the lifetime value of new donors via digital, TV, telemarketing, and direct mail channels.
Primary responsibilities include creating and implementing new acquisition strategies, managing ongoing programs, and identifying growth opportunities through digital campaigns, DRTV, emergency response, lead generation, and donor upgrades.

Acting as a deputy to the Acquisition Manager, the Acquisition Lead will ensure smooth program execution while contributing to strategic planning and innovation. The role involves applying best practices in supporter onboarding and maximising fundraising opportunities, particularly in the digital arena, to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service's mission of enhancing health outcomes in rural, regional, and remote Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve new financial supporter acquisition and retention goals, aligning with the overall fundraising strategy and annual budgets
  • Contribute to the creation, management and expansion of regular giving and single gift programs across diverse channels
  • Support and lead acquisition efforts across multiple channels, such as digital, telemarketing, social media, direct mail, SMS, and TV campaigns
  • Assist in managing production schedules and overseeing campaign approval processes
  • Lead on testing, developing, and executing regular giving programs to improve value, retention, conversion, and engagement
  • Support in the creation of new income generation activities and investigate innovative fundraising acquisition techniques
  • Track and report back on the performance of acquisition programs
  • Develop and manage budgets, create project plans, align revenue and expenditure forecasts, and monitor income and expenses
  • Collaborate with the Data and Insights team to use data for informed decision-making and optimising fundraising acquisition campaigns
  • Manage multiple external agency relationships, driving performance and continued improvement of campaigns
  • Manage, motivate, and support Acquisition Coordinators to achieve agreed performance targets and indicators
  • Provide a supportive, nurturing and collaborative leadership style to your team, offering guidance, motivation, and support to Acquisition Coordinators to help them reach agreed-upon targets and milestones

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in multi-channel acquisition strategies and programs, with expertise in developing and implementing supporter engagement plans
  • Muti channel strategic experience across DM, digital, TM
  • Successful track record of creating innovative tests for new platforms and projects from the ground up
  • Strategy development experience and the ability to manage reporting and budgets for a fundraising program
  • Highly developed analytical skills with a solid grasp of business and financial modelling
  • Experience in managing multiple external fundraising agency relationships, leading on performance, planning and KPIs
  • Proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • A data driven approach to acquisition strategies with strong understanding of data analysis and segmentation
  • Strategic thinking, planning and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments and work with key stakeholders to build a robust business model
  • Proficient in MS Office / advanced in Excel
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve goals
