Impact of the organisation

Coronary heart disease remains the leading cause of death in Australia.

For over 60 years, the Heart Foundation has been the trusted peak body working to improve heart disease prevention, detection and support for all Australians.

Their work as Australia’s largest non-government funder of research into heart health has had a major impact on the survival rates of those suffering a heart attack and those living with heart disease, but they will not be satisfied until it is completely eradicated.

The Heart Foundation advocate to government and industry for increased funding and resources for heart health and they build community awareness around living a heart-healthy lifestyle through public health awareness campaigns, accessible information and resources while supporting health professionals in their work to prevent, diagnose, treat and manage heart disease.

Impact of the role

In line with organisational growth plans, The Heart Foundation is excited to be recruiting two key newly created roles. These roles will ensure the smooth delivery of key fundraising programs, contributing to vital income growth.

You will support the campaign implementation of various donation channels such as direct mail, telemarketing, face-to-face and digital campaigns to attract and retain donors. Your focus will be to provide top-notch donor care and streamline processes to make giving a seamless experience for supporters.

In these roles, you will collaborate with external agencies and internal teams, working closely with management to create strategies that enhance donor retention and acquisition.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your varied strengths across project management, process improvement, data, administration and communication to support a growing fundraising program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Campaign Leads in managing the daily operations of the programs and implementing acquisition and retention campaigns.
  • Oversee relationships with external suppliers for campaign management and identify any issues or risks.
  • Develop timelines and documents for campaigns, ensuring all key deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Resolve donor inquiries and feedback promptly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage approvals, edit, and proof donor communications before publication.
  • Work with Supporter Relations and Data Insights Teams to ensure accurate data management in Raisers Edge, troubleshooting any issues.
  • Produce regular reports tracking key tasks and deliverables.
  • Identify ways to enhance processes, compliance, and donor care to improve retention and fundraising practices.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications or proven success in administrative, marketing, for-purpose, or related fields.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Experience in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in CRM software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and philanthropy or an interest to learn.
  • Experience in project or campaign management.
  • Skilled in documenting processes and procedures effectively.
