The Development Manager plays a crucial role in the Corporate Partnerships Team to expand WWF-Australia’s corporate support.

This fantastic role involves developing new strategic partnerships with businesses that align with WWF's values and purpose.

The position focuses on driving conservation impact by identifying and cultivating new multi-faceted, multiyear and high value partnership opportunities, growing corporate support, and enhancing the partner network.

Impact You Will Have in This Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and innovative business development professional to help shape WWF-Australia's partnership portfolio and contribute directly to the growth and success of their conservation efforts.

Reporting into a dynamic and highly experienced partnerships leadership, you will develop relationships with new corporate prospects to support WWF-Australia in their critical work to conserve biodiversity, empower communities and halt climate change in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for acquiring new strategic corporate partnerships to increase financial and other support
  • Identify and assess partnership opportunities aligned with WWF’s needs and values
  • Manage a pipeline of prospects, ensuring alignment with WWF’s strategy and business benefits
  • Lead on the full new partnership cycle from prospect identification, to engagement, relationship development, proposal development, pitch and closing
  • Pitch and negotiate both tiered and bespoke partnership opportunities with guidance and support from relevant WWF subject experts and leaders
  • Develop compelling, innovate and creative partnership opportunities; negotiate and secure partnership agreements
  • Engage prospects through events and alliances and manage the pipeline using WWF’s CRM
  • Monitor corporate engagement trends and maintain sector networks
  • Ensure that partnerships and activations align with agreed strategies and comply with WWF’s frameworks, policies, and meet due diligence requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, in the not-for-profit sector or within a strategic partnerships role, with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of meeting growth targets and delivering results
  • Extensive experience in developing pipelines, engaging with prospects and developing new business relationships
  • Ability to develop creative, unique and compelling partnership opportunities that are brand aligned and mutually beneficial
  • A passion and drive to work within a new business focused role and the ability to engage with C level executives
  • Excellent communication skills with high level written and verbal presentation skills
  • Proficiency in IT, databases, and MS Office
  • Demonstrated experience in creative proposal development
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment
  • A commitment to the WWF mission to create change on a global scale for climate, nature and people
