Impact of this opportunity
The Donor Development Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving Kidney Health’s vision to eliminate the burden of dialysis by embracing both new and existing innovations in kidney disease treatment and support.
We are searching for a relationship fundraiser to drive fundraising growth across mid-value, major donor and trusts & foundation portfolios by growing flourishing relationships with current and prospective donors, identifying new donor prospects, and developing and implementing strategies to maximise donor contributions and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and success of the mid-value, major donor and trusts and foundations fundraising portfolios by implementing fundraising initiatives across prospect identification, tailored stewardship plans, and continuous personalised donor growth and engagement plans to meet fundraising goals
- Develop the donor portfolio by identifying prospects and cultivating and stewarding personalised relationships with existing and new major donors and philanthropic foundations to secure sustainable and substantial support for vital fundraising initiatives
- Build a pipeline of new prospective donors through acquisition, networking and new donor development activity
- Lead and mentor a Grants Writer, and develop a process for identifying organisational priorities for grants and submissions to maximise philanthropic support from trusts and foundations
- Develop cases for support to fund Kidney Health Australia’s vital programs and services, ensuring they align with donors' interests and specific trusts and foundations criteria
- Apply a data-driven mindset, using analytics, research insights and feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and report on all fundraising metrics to communicate progress
- Build impactful and collaborative working relationships across the organisation to unlock large-scale opportunities for philanthropic support
- Provide a high-touch commitment to every donor throughout the development of their donor journey
Skills and Experience
- Proven success creating and implementing donor engagement and stewardship plans, along with experience implementing moves management processes for donors from lead generation through to gift conversion
- A passion for building new donor relationships with the ability to prospect, identify and develop new donor relationships
- Demonstrated data analysis skills with the ability to research, profile, and qualify major gifts prospects, and the ability to create compelling and tailored cases for support
- Confidence in “making the ask” with the ability to secure philanthropic gifts that align with each donor's individual motivation to give
- Strong strategic research, pitch, and presentation skills
- A collaborative approach, and proven success working with others internally to unlock large-scale fundraising opportunities
- Inspiring approach with the ability to manage, coach and develop a team member
- Excellent high-level communication and influencing skills with experience collaborating with others to gain tailored support
- A strategic mindset, with the ability to influence growth and drive for results
- A genuine interest in making a transformational impact on kidney disease care that restores lives and provides patients with more time and a better quality of life
