Impact you will make in this role

This newly created role is designed to support the organisation’s exciting strategic goal of crafting a comprehensive and holistic donor experience that fosters deeper engagement.

In this role, you'll have the exciting opportunity to make a real impact by strengthening relationships with individual giving supporters. You’ll be at the heart of driving donor retention through the management of existing programs, while also testing and developing innovative strategies for donor engagement, legacy giving, and long-term retention.

By providing a first-class experience for single donors, regular donors, and Gifts in Wills prospects, you’ll play a crucial role in boosting retention rates, reducing attrition, and inspiring a passionate community of supporters to increase their contributions.

Key Responsibilities

You will develop and implement data-driven retention strategies to enhance supporter experience, maximise retention, and increase donor lifetime value. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing external suppliers and internal teams to meet retention campaign goals.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve processes affecting supporter experience and gathering feedback from supporters when possible.
  • Promoting best practices in supporter care, data management, and engagement across the organisation.
  • Build and execute multi-channel, data-driven retention strategies for single donors, regular donors, and Gifts in Wills prospects.
  • Leading the strategy and execution of the annual tax receipt campaign, working with multiple stakeholders to minimise donor attrition.
  • Partnering with the Senior Digital Specialist to ensure welcome journeys are effective and periodically reviewed for optimal retention.
  • Supporting initiatives to gather data on supporter motivations, behaviours, and attitudes.
  • Managing campaigns and suppliers within budget and timelines.
  • Reporting on the success of campaigns and new initiatives.
  • Creating a stewardship strategy for Gifts in Wills supporters, including personalised communications, engagement opportunities, and recognition efforts to deepen their connection to ChildFund Australia’s mission.

Experience & Skills

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, project management, or similar transferable skills.
  • Experience in project and campaign management, including planning, implementation, budgeting, and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to deliver campaigns through direct mail, digital (email, SMS, social media, websites), and telemarketing.
  • Strong skills in data sourcing, analysis, and strategy development to meet KPIs.
  • Familiarity with customer experience and human-centered design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud.
  • Strong copywriting and communication skills.
  • Solutions-oriented, with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to interpret donor data and develop effective strategies.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
  • Motivated, reliable, and committed to delivering results.
