Impact you will have in this role

ACRF believes that a world without cancer is possible. Guided by some of the brightest minds in cancer research, they continuously look for new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer.

This is a fantastic newly created position for a dynamic, creative and innovative fundraiser with a background in Individual Giving and a track record of success in managing end-to-end direct marketing campaigns. You will have experience across appeals with the ability to develop and deliver exciting acquisition and retention strategies that lead to pipeline growth across teams, maximised engagement and increased revenue.

This role plays a key role in the development of the overall donor pipeline, and you will have the opportunity to build on the mid-value program while working closely with the philanthropy and bequest team to develop a robust funnel across fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the strategy and execution of ACRF's appeals and regular giving programs, focusing on revenue growth and donor retention
  • Collaborate with the broader fundraising team (with a focus on philanthropy and bequests) to create a pipeline from Individual Giving
  • Development and delivery of the Individual Giving activity calendar to include donor surveys, tax appeal, Christmas appeal, shoulder appeals, regular giving acquisition and retention campaigns, donor care and stewardship activity
  • Oversight of multi-channel campaigns; direct mail, EDM, SMS, social and digital channels
  • Build on the new mid value offering; using data insights to create mid value journeys, personalised approaches and develop this pipeline
  • Work with the Marketing team on strategies for acquiring and converting single and regular donors across various channels, both within and outside of appeals
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and test new strategies and techniques to diversify and grow ACRF’s donor base
  • Promote innovation, creativity, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making
  • Management of two staff members, providing a nurturing, collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Manage the budget for the Individual Giving program, including income and expenditure tracking and forecasting, with a focus on ROI

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience and success in managing direct marketing campaigns, including strategy, creative development, data analysis, implementation, and delivery
  • Multi-channel campaign experience across DM, EDM and digital channels
  • Expertise in digital fundraising and an understanding of digital best practices across appeals and regular giving
  • Experience in designing and implementing best-in-class donor care strategies and communications across both offline and online touchpoints
  • Ability to work across both acquisition and retention initiatives and a passion for growing programs
  • An understanding of the lifetime value of a donor and how to work effectively across fundraising teams (such as philanthropy) to develop robust pipelines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a background in delivering creative, engaging and innovative campaigns
  • A data driven, donor centric fundraiser with the ability to leverage data and metrics for decision-making, tracking portfolio performance, optimising strategies, and reporting against objectives
  • Strong CRM capabilities, Salesforce use as an advantage
  • A passion for people management with a collaborative, authentic and supportive approach to leading a small team
  • An innovative, positive and passionate fundraiser with strong initiative, drive, and a solution focused attitude
