Impact You Will Have

As the Philanthropy Officer, you will use your excellent relationship/stakeholder management skills to steward a pipeline of donors across the bequests and mid value program, engaging donors via the phone and through online communication.

Supporting the Philanthropy Manager, you will build relationships with donors through bespoke communications and invitations to participate in donor activities such as events and an annual giving day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the bequest program, which includes managing the online will-writing platform and maintaining relationships with bequest donors through tailored communications, events, and other initiatives
  • Foster relationships with mid-tier donors, through personalised communications and opportunities to engage in donor-focused activities
  • Manage the pipeline of donors across these portfolios through phone, email and other channels, providing a brilliant donor experience
  • Support on activity for a giving day, driving donor engagement and interest
  • Assist the Philanthropy Manager with administrative tasks, fundraising efforts, and marketing materials, such as sourcing content, drafting copy and scripts, updating templates, and coordinating with suppliers as needed
  • Organising and managing donor events, tours, and meetings as required
  • Contributing to systems improvements and collaborating with the CRM specialist to enhance data management for the philanthropy team
  • Update the database with all donor communication and activity
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other fundraising and communications team members, research leaders and their teams, operations staff, and the CEO’s office to achieve these objectives

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in relationship fundraising (donor care, mid value, philanthropy, bequests)
  • An understanding of the donor journey with experience in stewardship
  • Experience in nurturing donor relationships with the ability to engage and inspire
  • Ability to communicate effectively with prospective donors via phone and email channels
  • Excellent written skills with the ability create compelling and engaging donor communications such as EDMs
  • High level attention to detail with strong administration skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and expertise/experience with CRMs with the ability to upload and manage relevant data
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team, with a collaborative approach to work
  • A passion to support the quality of life for individuals affected by brain and neurological disorders
