Impact you will make in this role
As the Retention Specialist, you will play a vital role in maximising the retention and value of the organisation’s individual giving supporters. You will manage existing multi-channel retention campaigns whilst using data to develop and test innovative engagement strategies that enhance the supporter experience.
Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring that donors feel appreciated, connected, and aware of the significant impact they have on the mission. By delivering an exceptional experience for regular donors, you will help boost retention rates, reduce attrition, and inspire a passionate community of supporters to increase their contributions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, implement, and monitor data-driven retention strategies to enhance donor retention, improve supporter experience, and increase donor lifetime value.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and enhance processes impacting supporter retention, incorporating feedback from supporters whenever possible.
- Advocate for best practices in supporter experience, care, and data management throughout the organisation.
- Lead the strategy and execution of the annual tax receipt campaign, coordinating multiple stakeholders to reduce donor attrition.
- Partner with the Senior Digital Specialist to ensure that welcome journeys for new supporters are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Support data collection initiatives focused on understanding supporter experiences, motivations, behaviours, and attitudes.
- Provide reports on the results of key campaigns and new initiatives.
Experience & Skills
- Relevant qualifications and experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, project management, or similar transferable skills.
- Proven experience in multi-channel retention strategies and programs, and familiarity with customer experience and human-centred design principles.
- Proven experience in retention either in fundraising or a related sector and familiarity with customer experience and human-centred design principles.
- Ability to source, interpret, and develop strategies from donor data.
- Strong project and campaign management skills, including planning, implementation, budget oversight, and evaluation.
- Experience delivering campaigns through direct mail, digital channels (email, SMS, social media), and telemarketing.
- Experience managing suppliers such as creative agencies and telemarketing firms.
- Proven ability to manage internal stakeholders across various functions and levels.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and improving business processes.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud is ideal.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Strong copywriting abilities.
- Solutions-oriented mindset with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
