The IUC Asylum Seeker and Refugee Support Hub (IUC Hub) was established in 2015 and exists to:

  • provide care and comfort to those who came to this land as strangers seeking safety;
  • promote the Christian values of love, forgiveness, respect and service, equality and inclusiveness; and
  • act with compassion, grace and generosity.

This position will work for Indooroopilly Uniting Church, delivering welfare support services to vulnerable people seeking asylum and refugees in SE Queensland. The IUC Hub operates as part of the ASRA Consortium which has recently received funding through to 30 June 2026

A small team of passionate volunteers provides welfare support at the Hub which opens on Thursdays and the first and third Saturday each month.

The successful applicant will share the church’s vision for the IUC Hub and perform the responsibilities of the role with flexibility, creativity, and respect for others.
