Inner West Neighbour Aid is seeking an emerging leader who is comfortable running a program in person, as well as being responsible for our social media presence and building our community spirit. A team player who welcomes learning and variety in their work life. The position requires exceptional organisational skills, creativity as well as a strong sense of our organisational brand. We are after someone who sees age is no barrier and is passionate about building our community of seniors and volunteers.
Inner West Neighbour Aid is a not for profit community organisation, established for over 30 years and primarily funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme and other grants.
We support seniors to stay mentally and physically active and thrive socially through exercise programs, therapeutic workshops, outings and new experiences, online grocery shopping, a centre based program and intergenerational connections. We also support seniors who want to stay living in their homes safely and independently with garden and lawn maintenance, assistance with pets.
This position offers:
- Pay rate at Level 3 Pay Point 1 under the NSW Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS) Award
- 2 working days, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 15 hours per week, between 8am and 5pm
- Training provided
- Birthday leave and up to 2 extra Xmas/New Year leave days per annum

Essential Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications and experience in a relevant discipline, including aged care, community services, human resources, health services, communications.
- Must have experience driving 8 - 12 seater vans and current NSW Drivers Licence
- Experience in working with small groups and supporting older people or people with disability and their carers
- Strong interest in supporting people living with dementia and their carers
- Experience working with volunteers or in an unpaid volunteer role
- Excellent communication, organisational, time management skills and problem solving skills
- Experience with managing social media handles, email campaign software or ability to learn and execute efficiently
- Computer skills including working knowledge of MS Access Databases, Windows operating system
- Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake same
- Food Handling Certificate or willingness to undertake same
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster or willingness to obtain
