Our Sydney based client is looking to appoint a full time permanent CEO to represent young people and youth services in NSW. The primary purpose of this client is to create a society where young people are supported, engaged, valued, and have their rights realised. Our client’s work helps build the capacity of young people, and youth services, and advocate for positive change on issues affecting these groups. This position reports to the Board and provides leadership supporting the sector through strategic communications, policy and thought leadership.

This is a high profile role requiring a capable CEO with a strong desire to make a positive and sustainable difference to:

  • Lead the organisation to drive and maintain key relationships with NSW members, NGO networks, peak bodies and all levels of government.
  • Develop and lead the team in implementing the plans and priorities to achieve strategic directions set by the board.
  • Building organisational strategy, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability through good governance, impact and outcomes measurement, funding applications/resources, organisational systems and processes.

We are seeking a CEO with strong leadership skills, an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, build strong relationships with government, business, NGOs and community leaders.

Some key considerations:

  • Are you able to influence people and policy to drive change with government, business, community and NGOs?
  • Do you have the tenacity, creativity, passion and drive to develop and facilitate solutions with a vision for realising the potential for young people?
  • Do you have experience in high-level policy development or advocacy in the youth sector?
  • Do you have an understanding of the policy framework applicable to youth services in NSW?
  • Are your communication skills strong, including as media spokesperson and presenter to large and small groups?
  • Are you able to engage with a wide range of senior stakeholders as well as frontline youth workers and diverse groups of young people?
  • Do you have well-developed research, analytical and conceptual thinking skills and a strong understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Do you wish to make a real and tangible difference in the lives of young people across NSW?
  • Are you comfortable in the media spotlight and public forums?
  • Are you driven by purpose?
