About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Board Chair to lead our organisation into the future. The Board Chair will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that our organisation is fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's operations, providing strategic direction, and advocating for our members and their healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Directors and staff, ensuring that the organisation is fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals
  • Represent the organisation in public and private settings, advocating for our members and their healthcare needs
  • Oversee the organisation's finances, ensuring that resources are being used efficiently and effectively
  • Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability among the Board of Directors, staff, and members
  • Ensure that the organisation is staying current with changes in the healthcare industry and adapting to new trends and developments

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with experience working with the disadvantaged, in the not-for-profit sector
  • Strong understanding of healthcare policy and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and leadership to a team
  • Strong financial management skills and experience with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to social justice and access to healthcare for all
  • Experience serving on a board of directors
