Marketing & Communications Manager - National Asthma Council

National Asthma Council is a not-for-profit peak body working to improve health outcomes and quality of life for people with asthma.

Reporting to the CEO, as the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for leading our clients marketing and communications activity, managing media and stakeholder relationships, strategic planning, and develop external communications/publications to help promote the council's work to drive audience engagement.

Primarily you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, implement & evaluate the ongoing refinement of marketing & communications strategies to enhance the council's brand & reputation & align with the councils programs, activities and strategic vision
  • Provide strategic communications advice across the council to ensure consistent messaging across brands
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media agency, provide briefings on required media activities, approve media materials, coordinate expert spokespeople & act as spokesperson as required
  • Oversee content development for website, social media & resources for health professionals & consumers
  • Develop & maintain strategic partnerships with a diverse stakeholder group
  • Lead from the front and manage a Digital Communications Officer

As the selected Marketing & Communications Manager, you will have notable experience in a similar role. You're someone who is 'hands-on' and enjoys working for an organisation that has purpose and impact with the ability to produce strong written content. You will partner with a diverse stakeholder group including senior health professionals.

Your qualifications will include:

  • A relevant qualification in marketing & communications or related field
  • Proven experience in developing & implementing organisational marketing & communication strategies with measurable outcomes
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely & appropriately for specific audiences
  • Proven experience in copy editing, writing & proof reading materials for use in print & digital media
  • Ability to be work effectively under tight deadlines
