About Us

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) leads the development, planning and delivery  of comprehensive primary health care in order to ensure family health and wellbeing through integrated health and social support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in South East Queensland.

The Organisational Development team’s primary focus is contributing to IUIH’s strategic objective of expanding and maintaining a competent and enabled health workforce. With our continual workforce growth over the past 10 years we focus on frameworks and programs to increase Indigenous workforce participation, growing our own and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.

About the Role

As an Instructional Designer for the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health you will be responsible for the design and development of contextualised, culturally responsive eLearning experiences. The goal for this role is to facilitate learners in gaining knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and engaging manner.   

  • Create engaging eLearning activities and course content that enhances retention
  • Consult with subject matter experts and source relevant information to design, develop and implement innovative, contemporary eLearning content
  • Create engaging storyboards/scripts and content for eLearning programs and advise on production.
  • Ongoing review and evaluation of established training content to ensure best practices are captured and standardized delivery processes are issues
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to create rich media course content that results in interactive learning products

About You

  • Current (QLD) Drivers Licence
  • Criminal History Check (willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant tertiary Qualification and/ or experience
  • Proven skills and experience in instructional design and the development of student centric eLearning experiences and resources
  • Must have at least Dose 1 of the Covid-19 vaccine prior to commencement

Desirable, but not mandatory

  • Knowledge of VET quality frameworks and guidelines desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
