Key Responsibilities

  • Personalised Case Management: Offer tailored case management services to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence.
  • Housing Assistance: Help clients secure safe, affordable housing and support them in maintaining their tenancies.
  • Outreach Services: Provide mobile outreach, conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and refer clients to essential resources.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with DVAC specialists and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Experience: We seek individuals with experience in providing services to people who have experienced domestic and family violence and/or assisting people without security of tenure to access or maintain housing.
  • Housing Knowledge: Understanding of housing and homelessness, including the barriers people face in housing crises and the pathways out of homelessness.
  • Education: Relevant tertiary qualifications in human services or related fields.
  • Experience: Proven experience in achieving housing outcomes for individuals in crisis situations.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of domestic violence dynamics, risk assessment, safety planning, and advocacy.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational abilities.
  • Legislation: Knowledge of or ability to understand the Domestic & Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in IT and documentation.
  • Licenses: Current Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check - Blue Card (or ability to obtain), National Police Check upon successful offer.
