What you’ll be doing in this role:

As a Home Care Support Worker in the Community Aged Services Department, you’ll provide personal, in-home support to our aged clients, allowing them to remain in their homes living active and independent lives.

You will be making a difference to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, supporting their ability to continue with their daily living activities and engage in the things they enjoy most.

You will provide support to clients based in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.

Job Description

Your care work may include:

Your typical day could involve supporting your clients with:

  • Personal care
  • Monitoring medication
  • Home respite
  • Shopping and transport
  • Mobility
  • Socialising
  • Housework, laundry, and meal preparation and assistance

You will be supporting community members in their own homes, helping with all aspects of daily living as identified in their individual care plans. You will work closely with the community member, their caseworkers, family members, and carers, and will be required to maintain accurate client documentation.

Skills and Experience

To be successful, you will:

  • Have the desire to support older people with daily living activities.
  • Be experienced in the Aged Care sector or have related work (personal experience counts).
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of the needs of aged clients and their carers.
  • A First Aid Certificate and CPR is essential or a willingness to get one.
  • Hold a current unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence, and have your own insured vehicle
  • Understanding a person-centred approach to client care.
  • Candidates with a Certificate III in Aged Care, Home Community Care, or an equivalent qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Understanding and have a sensitivity to Jewish values, heritage, and culture. 

All offers of employment are dependent upon the successful completion of the organisation’s pre-employment check process. This includes (but is not limited to) the requirement to be willing to obtain a Criminal Police Check, and Visa Check and a flu vaccination.
