At JDRF we evaluate the global landscape and support research programs through the Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network (T1DCRN) and other initiatives. We target all aspects of Type 1 Diabetes to improve daily life as we work for a cure. We support therapies through each stage of the research pipeline and work to ensure these treatments reach those who need them as quickly as possible.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Research Operations Manager, this role is responsible for providing management‐level administrative support and monitoring the progress of JDRF funded research, ensuring that these projects meet agreed on reporting and contractual requirements, quality standards, and are delivered on time and to budget. This position is primarily an office‐based role that works closely with a diverse range of external stakeholders, as well as other JDRF teams including fundraising, community engagement and marketing.

We are looking for a motivated individual with strong administration, computer literacy and communication skills, as well as well-developed data analysis skills, from collation through to presentation. Located at our office in St Leonards, NSW, this role is a permanent part-time arrangement of up to 3 days per week. The role is dynamic, and we encourage people with experience in scientific research to apply.

Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • At least equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree or similar qualification in science, medicine or a research‐related field.
  • Very strong communication skills (oral and written) with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong computer literacy and data analysis skills including collating data, data analysis and data presentation.
  • Good problem‐solving, troubleshooting and decision‐making skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organised, adaptable and able to make things happen in a fast‐paced dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and processes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to build and manage solid internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to conduct biomedical literature reviews.
  • A proactive approach to minimise errors and increase efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, learning, developing skills, and sharing knowledge and information.

Desirable Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in biomedical or clinical research or equivalent.
  • The ability to review and evaluate research project progress and expenditure.
  • Experience in scientific research.
