Jewish Care Victoria, is a not-for-profit organisation and is one of the largest providers of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria and has been servicing the community for 170 years. Our staff come from all cultural and religious backgrounds, and we provide cultural and spiritual training in the Jewish Ethos.

About the role

We are now seeking an Administration Officer for our modern Windsor facility to provide effective, timely, engaging and efficient administrative support. This role is the first impression of the home, so your exceptional customer service skills and natural ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders is highly regarded. This is a fixed term part time position till the end of February. 

Your key responsibilities:

  • Concierge, welcoming residents, families, friends and community members
  • Key focus on staff rostering and payroll record management
  • Prepare, update and maintain client files and information systems to ensure all information and documentation is on hand and accurate
  • Work closely with the leadership team and other Jewish Care staff to support our clients
  • Seek to understand the context of the Jewish Community and to apply sensitivity to relationships

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A supportive, patient, understanding and respectful approach towards older people.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in administration/customer service roles and rostering experience ideally in a medical or aged care organisation
  • Demonstrate customer service competencies, ideally in face to face contexts
  • Demonstrate highly developed time management skills including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Qualification in Business Administration or similar would be beneficial
  • MS Office proficiency, excellent typing and word processing skills

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the Jewish culture and community, or willingness to develop understanding.
  • Bilingual (Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish) would be advantageous.
