About the role:

Jewish Care is currently seeking a dedicated Information and Access worker for our Front Door - the single point of contact for all new clients seeking access to or information about our services. The Information and Access team provides a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for callers to discuss their situation. They conduct an initial needs identification assessment and make referrals to the relevant services and programs. Join our supportive team of professionals and continue your career with Jewish Care.

What you will do:

  • Provide a timely, professional, and effective response to contacts received through Jewish Care’s “Front Door”
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive service information for both internal Jewish Care programs and external services regarding access to services i.e. My Aged Care, NDIS
  • Undertake a brief, broad screening process utilising nominated tools, such as MARAM family violence screening and identification
  • Based on needs identification, provide a simple triage of a client in accordance with agreed prioritisation of needs.

What you will bring:

  • Relevant health or community sector qualification (minimum Diploma level) and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Advanced interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of community support services and consumer’s rights and responsibilities in relation to privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a client-centred, solution-focused approach
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Knowledge of issues and concerns that affect the Jewish community (desirable)
  • Capacity to speak another language – of greatest value would be Russian, Hebrew or Yiddish (desirable)
