Jewish Care Victoria is seeking an experienced manager to join our Social Services division as the Manager of Financial Capability & Wellbeing.

For 175 years, we have been dedicated to supporting individuals and families through a variety of programs and services that address community disadvantage and equip people with the essential tools to create a better life. About the Role:

As the Manager of Financial Capability & Wellbeing, you will play a key strategic role within our Social Services division. You will be responsible for the effective delivery of the Financial Counselling program, the social lending program (Empower interest-free loans), and developing initiatives that address financial literacy and capability needs at individual, family, and community levels.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide senior leadership, direction, and support to the programs under your responsibility
  • Supervise staff, respond to professional development and training needs, and complete annual performance plans
  • Champion high-quality, customer-centred responses across all programs to ensure excellence in service delivery
  • Facilitate a collaborative team dynamic, maximising efficiency and sharing ideas and resources
  • Guide the growth and enhancement of programs and consider new initiatives and offerings.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant standards and legislative regulations
  • Support teams in meeting all reporting requirements, including KPIs
  • Manage efficient and effective financial support service operations according to relevant standards, funding targets, and good practice guidelines
  • Oversee the operational processes for administering Empower interest-free loans
  • Advocate for the financial needs and issues of the community to elicit funding interest
  • Foster a team culture consistent with Jewish Care’s values, emphasising accountability and innovation
  • Ensure all funding requirements, including meeting KPIs, are met.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and management within the social services sector
  • Strong commitment to addressing social disadvantage and enhancing financial well-being
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, financial operations, and funding requirements
  • Strong understanding of community needs and the ability to develop responsive programs.
