About the role:

Jewish Care is currently seeking the services of an experienced project manager who brings knowledge and skills in health promotion and primary prevention to develop and implement programs to the Victorian Jewish community. We are looking for someone who can design and deliver high quality community focussed projects with a particular focus on mental health promotion and family violence prevention. What you will do:

  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a 12-month capacity building project for the Victorian Jewish community in relation to information sharing to promote the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Develop and facilitate community education programs for Jewish community bodies including schools, synagogues and peak bodies using a health promotion framework
  • Create resources for Family Violence prevention and Mental Health promotion.
  • Implement and evaluate grants, manage project plans, and report on progress.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, seek funding opportunities

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor Degree in social work, health promotion or equivalent
  • An understanding of project management frameworks
  • A strong understanding of the nature, impacts and drivers of family violence, particularly in diverse communities
  • Understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme or ability to quickly develop this knowledge
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Promotion strategies
  • Knowledge of program evaluation/outcome measurement frameworks
  • Knowledge of multicultural services and the barriers to engagement with mainstream health promotion messages
  • Knowledge of the Victorian Jewish Community (desirable).
