About Elwood St Kilda Neighbourhood Learning Centre:

ESNLC is a not-for-profit, Neighbourhood House that provides low-cost education programs and hosts a variety of community and commercial activities that promote sustainability, wellbeing and creativity. Our programs aim to cater to the needs of our local community, ensuring those most disadvantaged are supported and empowered to overcome educational gaps and social isolation.

We are a Registered Australian Charity and a Learn Local provider that offers government funded and low-cost places in pre-accredited and general courses focusing on literacy, English as an additional language and computer skills. We have been providing quality adult education programs and a great breadth of community services to our local community for over 35 years.

About the Role:

The Education & Engagement Coordinator supports the Executive Director (ED) in achieving our vision, mission, and strategic objectives, and assisting in the effective daily operations of ESNLC.

The Education & Engagement Coordinator is accountable for:

• Coordinating the design, development and delivery of all Adult Education at ESNLC, including ACFE and fee for service Adult Education programs, and ensuring they meet ACFE/Learn Local contractual obligations and compliance
• Coordinating Casual Venue Hire
• Working closely with the ED to delivery ESNLC’s strategic plan
• Ensuring accurate record keeping and file maintenance
• The observance of ESNLC ‘s vision, mission, and policies

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Mandatory:

• Experience in the development of curriculum and delivery of adult education programs to students of varying backgrounds
• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or at least 2 years experience in coordinating pre-accredited education programs or in coordinating community development
• Detailed understanding of the contractual requirements and delivery standards of funding provider Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) and the Learn Local Sector
• Well-developed program development skills with the capacity to identify, evaluate and implement new funding opportunities and/or programs that have generated growth
• Ability to manage budgets and ensure the financial outcome of programs/classes are sustainable
• High level of competency in the use of computers and software, in particular MS Office with a demonstrated ability to quickly gain competency of new software.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
• Working with Children (WCC) Check & National Police Record Check clearance
• Australian citizenship or a work visa that allows the holder in Australia for a minimum of two years

Highly Desirable:

• High level competency in the use of Social Planet, WordPress and Canva is desirable.
