Mimal Land Management is an organisation dedicated to sustainable land management and community development in Central Arnhem Land. We are currently undertaking a significant project involving the construction of multiple buildings aimed at enhancing learning and community facilities.
As a Site Coordinator with Mimal Land Management, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our construction project, reporting to the Project Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the on-site operations, ensuring the timely completion of tasks, and fostering the inclusion of local workforces. This position requires a combination of strong leadership skills, construction expertise desirably in rammed earth construction, and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
- Coordinate on-site activities and resources to ensure the timely and efficient completion of construction projects to quality standards.
- Foster an inclusive environment for local workforces, particularly focusing on unskilled and semi-skilled labour for rammed earth construction.
- Engage with the workforce, providing support and guidance to individuals with varying levels of skills and commitment.
- Oversee workplace health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines e.g. safe handling procedures and early identification of hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop workflows, templates, and safe work method statements.
About You
- Previous experience in building supervision, preferably on remote construction sites.
- Strong coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlines plus the initiative to find solutions to challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on capacity building and mentorship.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions.
- Current driver's license, 4WD off-road driving experience and basic vehicle maintenance skills.
- Bulman is a dry community; candidates must be able to live an alcohol-free lifestyle.
Your Reward
- Salary $120,000 per annum, negotiable on experience
- Subcontract arrangement considered
- Work rhythm (days & hours) can be negotiated
- Accommodation provided onsite
- Six weeks annual leave per annum, plus public holidays, salary sacrifice, 12.5% superannuation, relocation allowance and no accommodation costs while working and living in the community.
