About the role

Jesuit Social Services is seeking a skilled Communications and Project officer to provide administrative, organisational, project management and event support to the Advocacy and Strategic Communications team, as well as undertake general communications tasks.

The Strategic Communication team works closely with Policy department to join participant voice, practice wisdom and policy advocacy to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by our participants and the changes needed at a government level to improve outcomes for the whole community.

About you

This role will suit a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in an administrative and/or project support role
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel and proficiency, familiarity with or ability to learn project management tools like Microsoft Project, Asana.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including excellent minute-taking skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritise appropriately
  • Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills
  • Understanding and sympathy with the mission and ethos of Jesuit Social Services
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Successful Police Check to be conducted by Jesuit Social Services prior to commencement
