Jubilee Housing Inc. (JHI) is a not-for-profit organisation that provides affordable, secure, and comfortable housing for individuals and families facing barriers to accessing the private rental market. Since 1986, we have been committed to building a supportive community environment in collaboration with faith communities and volunteers.

With 40 residential properties across multiple locations, we aim to expand our impact through advocacy, partnerships, and community-driven initiatives.

The Role

As Housing Manager, you will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality service delivery for our renters, overseeing property management, and representing JHI’s mission. Working closely with our Finance Manager and Pastoral Care Worker, you’ll deliver a holistic approach to community housing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rental Management: Manage tenant allocations, rental agreements, and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
  • Property Management: Coordinate maintenance, conduct inspections, and manage contractor relationships.
  • Risk & Compliance: Act as the OHS representative, maintain policies and procedures, and oversee JHI’s Risk Register.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with renters, local government, service providers, and represent JHI at forums and VCAT hearings.
  • Strategic Support: Contribute to JHI’s strategic planning and reporting, including applying for grants to support housing upgrades and community initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: Proven background in property management, real estate, or a related field. Experience with community housing and Chintaro is desirable.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with rental laws, compliance frameworks, and tenant-focused services.
  • Skills: Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Values: Alignment with JHI’s Christian mission and an appreciation for faith-based welfare initiatives.
  • Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, property management, or community services (or equivalent experience).
