2 days a week you will support families and community in the 2168 (Miller) postcode under the Bringing Families Together (BFT) program.
3 days a week you will work on the Village Connect pilot, with parents 25 years and younger, pregnant and parenting, living across SWS.
In these programs, you'll meet parents where they are, offering a spectrum of support through a tiered model from primary through to tertiary PCIT supports.
The PCIT clinician plays a pivotal role within the Community Programs team, operating across two distinct projects in South West Sydney: Bringing Families Together and Village Connect. While these programs differ in some of the operational processes, they share a common goal of achieving positive outcomes for children, families, and communities.
The primary responsibility of the role involves delivering specialised Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) interventions within the community. This includes conducting one-on-one PCIT coaching sessions, facilitating both online and face-to-face groups, and implementing Parent Child Interaction Therapy - Toddler (PCIT-T) techniques as needed. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, the PCIT Clinician contributes unique skills and expertise. They assist in referral allocation, contribute to family management plans, handle complex case escalation, and provide support to their team where necessary.
Additionally, the role entails active participation in community engagement initiatives. The clinician is tasked with cultivating essential stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration between services, and ensuring families receive comprehensive care and tailored support that addresses their specific needs.
The workload of the PCIT Clinician is diverse, encompassing community outreach activities and clinic-based interventions. They receive clinical supervision and support directly from the PICHMS Manager and Toddler Clinic, ensuring high-quality delivery of PCIT treatment and ongoing professional development.
