Kensington Community Children’s Co-operative (KCCC) is a parent managed co-operative offering long day care and kindergarten. The centre began in Henry Street, Kensington in 1982, but soon outgrew its premises. It is currently located in a City of Melbourne owned building in Altona Street, Kensington. KCCC is licensed for 166 places including sessional kindergarten groups. KCCC is open 50 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 7.30am till 6.00pm. KCCC provides care for children from 2 months to 6 years of age.

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educators (Diploma Qualified) to join our team in casual and full-time positions.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. The Early Childhood Educator will work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children. You must have a passion for working with 0–2 year olds and 1–3 year olds and happy to work across the entire Centre.

Responsibilities:

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and programs for young children.

Create a safe and welcoming environment that promotes learning and exploration.

Observe, assess and reflect on children's development and progress and communicate this to parents and caregivers.

Collaborate with other allied health professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support children's individual needs.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of children's progress and development.

Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Teachers need not apply.

State certification or licensure as an Early Childhood Educator.

Experience working with young children in a childcare setting.

Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education, with Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other professionals.

Current knowledge of Child Safe Standards and the ability to create safe, support and inclusive spaces for children and families is a must.
