ROLE DETAILS

This role will start in May. The commitment is usually one day every fortnight during school terms, but the program is growing so there may be opportunities for more facilitation if you are interested.

The ideal person will have experience presenting to groups and/or facilitating events and be comfortable talking to students at both primary and secondary levels. This position is suited to someone who is self-motivated, energetic and organised.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver highly engaging workshops and hands on volunteering opportunities to large groups of school students at primary and secondary level based on provided scripts and materials.

  • Work with a range of co-presenters in schools across Melbourne metropolitan areas.

  • Display positive role modelling and social leadership behaviours to young people.

  • Contribute creatively to program content to ensure KiP’s relevance and impact.

  • Contribute to pre and post program work as required including before the program and on the day with room set up and pack down.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Strong experience in public speaking, facilitating or performing to large audiences with a demonstrated ability to connect and communicate with a wide range of people.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to run sessions and manage your own responsibilities, as well the ability to thrive as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders which for KiP will include the KiP team, teachers, and charity partners.

  • High level of initiative to jump in on the day to assist with setting up the sessions and ability to troubleshoot / roll with last minute changes to the program.

  • Current Working with Children Check and a Driver’s Licence (plus access to a vehicle - at times you will be required to take bulk materials to / from sessions as required).
