ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) enables preventative positive change in the food, health, wellbeing and sustainability habits of children and young people, families and communities across Australia. We provide the inspiration, information, professional development and support for educational institutions to deliver pleasurable food education, in conjunction with educators, partners and the wider community.

We are seeking a motivated and people orientated Finance and Operations Manager to lead our small and dedicated Operations Team. Reporting directly to the CEO, and as a member of the Management Team, your role is to:

  • Manage financial operations, reporting, transactions and budgeting, including the provision of accounts payable, payroll and salary packaging services
  • Ensure SAKGF people and culture, risk and governance, ICT and general operations frameworks, policies and practices are established and maintained as efficient and effective
  • Contribute to the long-term sustainability of the Foundation along with the CEO and other members of the Management Team

You will join a friendly, supportive and collaborative group of people dedicated to supporting schools, early childhood services and community settings to deliver pleasurable food education to young Australians.

  • Full time
  • Physical location is in Melbourne (Inner Melbourne), Victoria close to public transport.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and includes salary packaging benefits.

ABOUT YOU

We are a small not-for-profit that exists in a changeable environment and is open to opportunity and change. You will need to be willing to handle a rapidly adapting workplace, with a responsive and flexible attitude. We are looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated finance and operations experience in an NGO or related environment.
  • An agile, collaborative, good humoured working style that can adapt to a changing environment
  • Not-for-profit experience
  • A love of fresh, seasonal, delicious food!

The position may from time to time require intra-state and interstate travel. A driver’s license is required. The applicant must be able to legally work in Australia and hold a valid Working With Children Check.
