The Kinglake Ranges Neighbourhood House (KRNH) is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join a small team of employees and valuable volunteers at our community-based organisation.

Situated in beautiful parkland surrounds, the KRNH Inc. is a place where the community meets to participate in a variety of social, supportive and educational programs, activities and services. We support individuals, agencies and groups to foster positive development and a sense of community spirit.

KRNH – as one of 400 Neighbourhood Houses across Victoria – is an independent incorporated association funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and also receives funds from fee for service, donations, grants and a social enterprise Opportunity Shop.

It offers programs targeted at many sectors of the community, with all age groups represented across a range of activities including general leisure and recreation programs, health and exercise activities and adult learning programs. The house delivers two semesters of activities each year.

About the Role

As the Operations Coordinator, we are seeking a passionate, community-driven individual and team player who can oversee the operational day-to-day running of the KRNH; manage the development of community programs and projects with the aim of increasing participation; build networks and liaise with stakeholders at all necessary levels; and proactively work to assess and deliver on the community’s needs. This is a permanent part time position of 26 hours per week.

The position is responsible to the KRNH Committee of Management.

About you

  • Proven management experience (preferable community services/sector)
  • Experience with budget planning, report writing, finance administration, funding acquittal and program development including participation in the annual audit process with the Treasurer.
  • Ability to work with limited direction and within established routines and procedures.
  • Understanding of, and ability to, implement marketing strategies aimed at community engagement and participation.
  • Ability to maintain strong communication with the team, volunteers and COM.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong inter-personal and networking skills to deal with a range of stakeholders at community, local government, government and funding body level.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Commitment to fostering an open, inclusive and supportive environment and ability to relate to a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
