The Role

The KU Business Development Team are seeking an innovative, collaborative, and detail orientated Business Development Consultant to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. This role accrues a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) alongside a flexible work arrangement. It will also entail infrequent interstate travel as required.

This role is focused on analysing, researching, and expanding business opportunities towards sustained growth. Alongside identifying and developing new lines of business and responding to grant opportunities that reflect KU’s experience and expertise in the early childhood sector.

The main responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Assess, manage and respond to Tenders and EOI’s that fit within the KU Strategic Plan and deliverables.
  • Support grant applications that improve KU operations, programs and/or services with other KU departments.
  • Seek opportunities to partner with government, commercial and community-based organisations to deliver new, viable KU early childhood education services and programs,
  • Manage the establishment of new services within specified timeframes and budgets.
  • Utilise project management skills to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.
  • Source and deliver opportunities to undertake consultancy projects on a fee for service basis.
  • Develop networks to strengthen KU’s position as the preferred provider of quality work-based childcare for employers.

Key Criteria

The ideal candidate would bring demonstrated project management experience, financial and analytical acumen, have a team approach and be as passionate about early education as we are.

In addition, you will have:

  • Well-developed research, analytical, financial and strategic thinking skills to support recommendations that help deliver on the organisation's strategic plan.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes.
  • Understanding of operational budgets and financial analysis including proficient capability of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations and business report writing.
  • Innovative and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose equipment-based solutions for clients..
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.

*A Tertiary Qualification in Early Childhood/Business and the ability to contextualise experience within early years in business setting would be highly regarded*
