Kurbingui Youth and Family Development is a not-for-profit community service organisation that offers service to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, families, children and young people living within the Greater Brisbane, Moreton Bay and South East Qld regions.
We deliver various community services covering areas such as employment and training, family support, domestic and family violence, alcohol and substance abuse, cultural education and engagement programs, education support for families and children from preschool to tertiary, recreation and sports, early years, youth, women's and men's programs and cultural group activities, disability support, and health and nutrition.
The Indigenous Family and Child Connect and Family and Child Connect for the Greater Brisbane region is delivered through a partnership between Kurbingui Youth and Family Development and Mercy Community. This integrated model in called “Yadeni Tago” which is Turrbal language for “Advancing Together”.
The partnership acknowledges the strengths of both organisations and has been a great opportunity for all team members to share their skills and knowledge including working with families using various frameworks and approaches incorporated into culturally safe practices for indigenous and non-indigenous families. Yadeni Tago staff ensure that families have the choice to work with indigenous and non-indigenous support staff to meet their individual needs. Yadeni Tago staff are committed to maintain a culturally safe place for both staff and families they work with.
The Indigenous & non-Indigenous Family and Child Connect (IFACC) is a Queensland Government-funded initiative aimed at ensuring vulnerable families and children have access to high-quality services at the right time to help them to maintain the family unit. The Brisbane Region IFACC is delivered in partnership with the non-Indigenous Family and Child Connect (FACC) Mercy Community.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide quality service through the assessment and recommendation of culturally appropriate responses comprising all aspects of intake, engagement, assessment, and referral to support services within a time-limited period.
This position offers a competitive remuneration package in line with the 'Fisher' & '316 Regulation' pay scale and Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
