Do you want more from your career? Like the chance to do important and interesting work, an exciting career path, excellent working conditions and a competitive salary and benefits package? Then we’d like to hear from you!

Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ) is an independent statutory authority funded by the state and federal governments. LAQ’s vision is to be a leader in a fair justice system where people are able to understand and protect their legal rights. Our purpose is to provide quality, cost effective legal services to financially disadvantaged people throughout Queensland.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced customer service professional to take on a challenging and rewarding role. As the Peer Coach (Customer Service) you will support the delivery of high quality services to clients by providing job coaching to LAQ’s Customer Service Officers/Client Information Officers. Both Customer Service Officers/Client Information Officers attend the front counters and help people identify their legal problems, explain their legal rights and responsibilities and provide information about how to apply for a grant of legal aid. They also assess whether people need further legal help and can organise for them to be booked in for legal advice with a lawyer.

You will be involved in the delivery of training to Customer Service Officers/Client Information Officers including their extensive initial training program and an ongoing program of training and development to enhance their customer service, administrative and communication skills and improve their knowledge of the law and our legal system.
