About the opportunity:

Launch Housing operates in a lean and skilled IT team to support the organisation in achieving its mission of ending homelessness in Melbourne. With the IT operations and environment maturing, the need for a value-add business partner position has come about. The IT Business Partner plays a crucial role of the conduit between IT and the broader organisation. This strategic position is responsible for understanding organisational goals to ensure IT initiatives are aligned to our mission. Project delivery, business requirements gathering, risk management, governance, procurement and negotiation are all disciplines and skills required for this role.

Reporting to the Group Manager - Information technology, the role will form strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support informed decisions and direction.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity based at our Collingwood head office with a requirement to work across all Launch Housing sites.

What you'll be doing:

  • Good project governance from end to end, starting with scoping all the way through to implementation.
  • Project reporting – key stakeholders/committees are updated on expected timelines.
  • Risks are identified, documented and addressed.
  • Projects delivered on budget and schedule with scoped deliverables achieved.
  • Engaging with business and stakeholders to add more detail to roadmap initiatives.
  • Prioritise initiatives based on organisational criticality.
  • Business cases run consistently to gain budget approval.
  • Review and select best fit partners for successful outcome.
  • Actively engaging in continuous improvement within the team.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships within the team and Launch Housing.
  • Behaving in accordance with all Launch Housing policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct.
  • Upholding the principles of the Child Safe Code of Conduct, ensuring that Child Safe Standards are translated
  • into operational practices at all times.
  • Undertaking any other tasks as directed.

What we're looking for (key selection criteria):

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S.) or 5 to 10 years’ experience of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience and 3 years developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate in Project Management.
  • Proven project management success.
  • Track record in being able to conceptualise optimal IT solutions that meet business needs.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to critically analyse problems and business processes.
  • Create and analyse relevant information and develop recommendations for senior management.
  • Business development skills.
  • Vendor Management: Experience in vendor management and SLA monitoring.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Valid Victorian drivers licence (desirable).
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.
