Our mission is to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and we're striving to be the go-to organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.
Our people are the backbone of our organisation and supporting their wellbeing and professional development is critical to our ability to help our clients and the community. We value lived experience and diversity in our staff, and actively work to ensure everyone is able to make their career with Launch Housing fulfilling.
Launch Housing is working to become more trauma informed and as a leading employer in the homelessness sector, it is important to let you know that you will hear stories of distress, hardship, trauma, or violence when working with us. We encourage you to reflect on how this may impact you when considering applying for the role. Sustaining the Health & Well-being of our staff is our priority. We provide high-quality training & supervision, Wellbeing Days, and access to Employee Assistance Program.
The Service Manager – Rough Sleeping Solutions is a leadership role within Launch Housing Homelessness Support & Impact portfolio reporting to the Group Manager – Immediate Support and contributes to Launch Housing’s aim of ending homelessness.
The experience of rough sleeping and engaging with the homelessness system manifests differently for every person, and it is the role of the rough sleeping solutions services to respond with empathy, skill and understanding, respecting the dignity of each person and ensuring they feel supported during a traumatic and highly stressful time. The Service Manager - Rough Sleeping Solutions is responsible for supporting and integrating a range of proactive and reactive programs including assertive outreach programs and Advance to Zero.
Service Managers at Launch Housing understand the organisational vision and values and lead their teams in translating these into their daily work. They design services that address client needs without compromising on staff safety, taking an entrepreneurial approach to service development. Where possible they encourage staff to work across service barriers for the good of the client and to break down silos within Launch.
They create opportunities to connect with and show care for their staff at all levels and use problems as learning opportunities (coaching people to ensure good performance where needed). They think about the career development of their direct reports and ensure there is strong succession planning for their own role. They role model the Launch Values and ask for feedback from their staff on how they can improve as a manager/leader.
Service Managers embrace change as an opportunity and focus on new opportunities. When managing teams through change, Service Managers give staff a chance to have their feedback heard. They are evidence based and transparent in their decision making when possible – they help staff to understand they “why” behind decision making.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity.
