About the opportunity

The Coordinator - Supportive Housing is responsible for supporting and coordinating the Supportive Housing team at Launch Housing. The Supportive Housing Team will provide case management support to people sleeping rough with a high level of acuity and support needs. The duration and intensity of support will vary depending on the individual need. The Supportive Housing Case Management team include staff co-located from our partner agencies; Melbourne City Mission, Ngwala, Monash Health and Neami, who work alongside Launch Housing staff to form a multi-disciplinary team and ensure a consistent high-quality service, which meets the needs of our clients. You'll be responsible for ensuring that the support provided to clients is consistent, effective and maximises the client’s chances of getting and keeping housing. An important element of this work will include working closely with the Housing First Service Manager to support the alignment of case management practices with the Launch Housing practice framework and Housing First principles.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing effective leadership and coordination to the team using a best practice leadership approach, to ensure the delivery of consistent and high-quality programs and services across all relevant service areas.
  • Providing leadership in line with the Launch Housing Leadership Capability Framework to ensure the provision of consistent and high-quality services and outcomes for clients.
  • Coordinating the recruitment, onboarding, induction and training of new staff members.
  • Ensuring risk, issues, complaints and incidents being effectively managed, investigations occur in a timely manner and system risk is appropriately escalated.
  • Supporting a culture of trust and inclusion and contribute to a program of continuous improvement by encouraging constructive feedback from staff and clients to inform program and service improvements.

What we're looking for (key selection criteria)

  • Demonstrated understanding of housing and homelessness policy, context and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others towards effective client solutions.
  • Experience supporting staff who work with people with complex needs.
  • Proven ability to provide supervision that is supportive and promotes professional development and accountability.
  • Leadership qualities including a high degree of initiative and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • A tertiary qualification in human services, social work or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.

$55.46 - $55.46 an hour
