What you'll do

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assertive Outreach Worker to join the Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI) team. The RSI team is aimed at assertively engaging with and supporting people sleeping rough in the inner metro areas. This program provides a response for people who are hard to reach, entrenched and who may have complex needs.

The Assertive Outreach Worker will work closely with a number of service providers to deliver an assertive and persistent street-level approach to outreach in order to identify, engage and work with clients to achieve sustainable outcomes; primarily rapid access to housing and intensive support and to assist clients to settle into their housing.

What you'll bring

It is expected that the successful candidate will bring:

  • relevant qualification in human services, social work or other relevant discipline
  • experience providing case management and support to clients with complex needs
  • excellent interpersonal skills, take accountability for your work outcomes and be able to form and maintain strong relationships which are all essential ingredients to working collaboratively with clients and other organisations to achieve common goals
